Born June 4th in Munich, on a Sunday '61 !¿
My father comes from Berlin’s Bleibtreustraße. After the war he moved to Munich and founded the legendary dixie band Occam Street Foot Warmers. A busload of boogie-woogie and ragtime piano. After the war, my mother grew up on the Ammersee and played violin and viola. The artistic disposition of my parents cannot be disputed.
I started taking piano lessons when I was 6. At 10 I expanded my classical repertoire with the cello.
At age 11 I visited famous traditional clubs, like Allotria and Domizil, with my father. My first exposure to live jazz. A fascination for the music of Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Don Cherry and many others accompanied me throughout the years.
The long-hair era followed at 13, with guitar and vocal accompaniment. Songwriting and street music complemented one another: I played songs but I heard jazz.
After 1990 I lived and played in the Rhine and Ruhr, adding the new genre of electric, funk and acid jazz. At the beginning of the 90s I started the funk-soul-jazz project KOOL SOUL, arranged and produced the CD "In a Dream" with jazz musicians and played live in clubs and at festivals in Munich, Hamburg, Cologne and the Ruhr Basin.
Also in the 90s: Live choreography and performance with the funk dance group The Zoonies in Germany.
